Boudoir photography across Melbourne
A whole city of locations, plus a studio when you want one. From Fitzroy terraces to St Kilda motels, here is where BlackBunny shoots and why each spot looks the way it does.
Studio or location?
Studio. A premium option ($$, quoted per shoot). Private and fully controlled. Best for first-timers, tight schedules and anyone who wants the fewest variables. Address sent on booking.
On location. A hotel, a motel, an apartment or the street. More texture, more atmosphere, a bit more planning. We scout it, check it is safe and agree it in writing before the day.
Further out. We travel anywhere in Greater Melbourne, and regional Victoria by arrangement. Venue fees and travel are quoted at cost before you commit. See the packages and add-ons.
The suburbs
-
Fitzroy
Terrace-house tungsten, peeling paint, deep oxblood corners. Smith and Brunswick Streets after dark are made for flash. Warm, nosy and always a bit hungover.
-
Collingwood
Brick warehouses, roller doors, loading docks and rooms big enough to hang a red gel and a whole attitude. Where most of the RED series was shot.
-
Brunswick
Sydney Road noise, old factory floors and concrete that eats light. The place for high-grain black and white that looks photocopied twice.
-
Northcote
Quieter streets, weatherboards, lounge rooms with proper afternoon light. Good for softer, more domestic scenes, and close to the studio.
-
St Kilda
Sodium streetlights, sick green fluoro and a motel room at 2am. Grubby glamour with the bay a block away. Faded, a little seedy, completely photogenic.
-
CBD
Laneways, car parks, stairwells and steel. Cold fluoro and white flash against wet concrete. Great after midnight when the grid empties out.
-
Richmond
Rooftops, rail lines, old pubs and graffiti walls. Hard sun by day, sodium orange by night, and plenty of corners to duck into.
-
Footscray
Big skies, industrial edges, wide streets and wild texture. Shooting out west gets you space, grit and light nobody else has used.
